I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2001 and worked in the NHS for the next 20 years. Alongside my physiotherapy career, I began to train in other holistic modalities starting in 2006 when I became qualified in Acupuncture, then Acupressure, Reflexology, Biofield Tuning (a form of sound/ vibrational therapy) and Cranio-Sacral Therapy.
Having spent so many years assisting those on their healing journey, whether it be physical or emotional, I remain in awe and wonder at the capacity of the body to heal itself. For those of us who set a strong intention to heal, the journey begins and we find our way.
It is my experience that our physical bodies want to be heard and healed. They want us to become consciously aware of why we hurt, why we react as we do, why we believe what we do. Our physical and energetic bodies hold our truths, whether we are conscious of them or not. If we can be courageous enough just to listen, and perhaps to change, we create an energetic momentum that moves us towards a new future, towards becoming a more authentic version of ourselves .
Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST)
CRANIO-SACRAL THERAPY is a very gentle therapy that utilises the skilful application of the practitioner’s light touch to facilitate flow within the body’s subtle rhythms. The CST practitioner’s light touch is deeply relaxing for the client, and when the body is relaxed it is possible for healing to occur.
For a variety of reasons: including stress, trauma, physical injury, unresolved emotions, difficult life situations etc; energy flow within the body can become blocked or stagnant. It is a normal human response to life. However, being ‘blocked’ does not enhance our lives; it can have us walking up a one way street. If the energetic blockage does not naturally resolve, it will make itself known through a variety of ways, including physical body issues or feeling blocked in moving forward in some area of your life.
In a very similar way to eastern medicine, CST is able to enhance energetic flow within the physical body to resolve energetic blocks or stagnancy. Restoring energetic flow within the body allows us to have a dynamic response to the ups, downs and challenges of life. Hence, energy flow is one of the foundations of health and can positively enhance wellbeing.
Unlike other holistic modalities, because CST is working on subtle energy flow, it does not require the client to discuss intimate details of the presenting issues with the CST practitioner. The client’s intention to work on a particular issue is enough. This can be of great benefit to those who do not wish to share traumatic personal information and can be of great value to those beginning their healing journey.
Biofield Tuning (www.biofieldtuning.com)
BIOFIELD TUNING, developed by Eileen Day McKusick, is a simple, yet powerful modality for resolving chaotic rhythms and patterns in the body’s biofield or aura. It is a form of sound / vibrational therapy.
The biofield is where we store our emotional experiences. Different emotions have different vibrations and since our emotions are ‘feeling energy in motion’ they are designed to move through us as we fully express them. However, many of us are taught to suppress our emotions from a young age. It is hypothesised that when we experience stress, trauma or pain, the chaotic vibrational pattern of intense unexpressed emotions stuck in our biofield and physical body causes us to get ‘triggered’ easily by events that carry a similar emotional tone, or vibration.
As a Biofield Tuning practitioner, I utilise the coherent input of a tuning fork to support the body to correct vibrational imbalances and return them to coherence. This coherence will show up in your life as greater clarity, improved focus, improved stress management and the ability to see things from a different perspective.

Reflexology
REFLEXOLOGY is a natural therapy that was practised by many ancient cultures, founded on the discovery that your feet and hands are a reflection of the internal and external systems in your body. By applying gentle pressure to specific areas of the feet or hands, a reflexologist can help the body restore its own healthy balance. The reflexologist is able to detect areas of congestion which might feel tender to the client. As the reflexologist works the area of congestion the corresponding reflected part of the body also benefits as blockages release and the body naturally moves towards a harmonious balance.
Reflexology aims to treat the individual as a whole, creating a state of harmony in both body and mind. Reflexology is deeply relaxing, and during periods of relaxation the body takes the opportunity to heal, restore and energise itself. Reflexology works the whole body and most clients experience deep relaxation during and after the treatment. As we relax, our anxieties lessen, circulation improves, and tensions, aches and pains can also improve.
